Residents Kick Off Spring at Field Festival

Have you ever wished you lived in a community where neighbors were more like family, amazing amenities were around every corner, and there was no shortage of family-friendly activities? For many of our residents, the answer was “yes,” and that’s why they are loving life at Rancho Mission Viejo.

In fact, on April 30th, over 600 neighbors and friends gathered at Sendero Field for one of the most anticipated events this year, Field Festival staged by RanchLife! With games, food trucks, kite flying, Zorb Balls and a whole lot more, it’s no wonder why residents think #TheRanchRocks!

A Breath of Fresh Air

Field Festival is all about celebrating the great outdoors, and there is no shortage of that on The Ranch. Whether you’re spending time at the three community farms, hiking a nearby trail or coming out to play at Sendero Field, life at The Ranch about connect with nature, your family and, of course, your neighbors!

Bouncin’ Off the Walls

At this year’s Field Festival, the Inflatable Fun Zone made for lots of laughs and a whole lot of bouncing too. Our littlest residents enjoyed the inflatable climb wall, treehouse, giant obstacle course, toddler lagoon, and the infamously fun Zorb Balls!

Game On

For those who wanted to participate in field games, soccer games were in full swing, courts were set up for youth tennis and pickleball lessons, and putting greens made for a great way for kids to brush up on their favorite sports.

Virtual Reality Meets Nature

Not only were residents able to explore the true outdoors while hanging out at Sendero Field, they also had the opportunity to see more of the surrounding area in a whole new way! Guests had the unique chance to explore various trails on The Ranch by experiencing them in The Ranch Virtual Reality Booth. It was a great way to plan out the next hike or docent-led event on The Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo.

Up, Up and Away

One of the highlights of Field Festival was the kite-making and kite-flying area. Orange County Kite Connection was out to help guests make their own kites, and demonstrate some fun tricks. Over 200 kites were made and flown. Just imagine a field full of fluttering kites flying overhead…and you’ll know exactly what guests experienced that day. What a blast!

Fuelin’ Up at Field Festival

DJ Vadim helped keep Field Festival moving and grooving as he played some of the best top 40 pop hits for guests to enjoy! And, after residents worked up an appetite, there were plenty of gourmet food trucks to choose from. On this year’s roster? Cousins Maine Lobster, The Viking Truck, Ruby’s, and Chunk-N-Chip were all crowd favorites. And, for those looking for a quick nibble, fresh fruit, granola bars, and water bottles were also available at our complimentary Fueling Station.

Field Festival Firefighters

The local Rancho Mission Viejo firefighters were special guests at our event, and brought along their shiny red fire truck for kids to explore (plus, our residents got their very own fire hats to take home)!

How Ranch Residents Roll

Then, finally, after the fun was done, residents had the opportunity to roll back home in style thanks to RanchRide, the best way to get around The Ranch. These shuttles were available for access to and from Sendero Field, making it easier for everyone to enjoy this fun-filled afternoon.

We want to say thank you to everyone who came out and made Field Festival 2017 such a great success! We’re already looking forward to next year. How about you?
