A Lifestyle Rooted in Connection
Rancho Mission Viejo, CA (April 17, 2026) – The Briscoes were just starting their family when they purchased a new home in the Village of Esencia. Today, they couldn’t be more thankful for a home that has given them a strong sense community, access to nature, and a family-friendly environment.
“Living on The Ranch felt aligned with our values: wellness, outdoor living, and raising children in a nurturing, grounded environment,” said Dr. Maryam Yazdanshenas Briscoe.
At the time, Maryam’s son was just nine months old. Today, at eight years old, he has grown up alongside the community they now call home.
“Over time, it’s become even more meaningful to live here. What started as a beautiful place to live has evolved into a lifestyle rooted in connection. Connection to nature, to our neighbors, and to a more intentional way of living,” said Maryam.
The family’s life on The Ranch is centered around time spent together, often outdoors. Whether it’s walking the trails, visiting the farm, attending community events, or enjoying the local farmers market, the Briscoe family embraces the simple moments that define their lifestyle.
One of the most impactful parts of their experience has been becoming a part of the RMV Farms community farm program. What began as an activity for her son has grown into a deeply meaningful part of their daily lives.
“The RMV farms gave us something meaningful that we could share together,” said Maryam. “Being able to show my son where food comes from, participate in growing it, and then bring it home to nourish our family is incredibly powerful.”
Rancho Mission Viejo features three neighborhood farms where residents can harvest fresh foods for themselves and to share with others. Residents of all ages can get involved through a variety of opportunities, including youth programs that introduce kids to the basics of farming, volunteer experiences alongside professional farm staff, and seasonal culinary workshops. The farms also serve as vibrant gathering spaces for RanchLife events, where residents connect over food through wine pairing experiences, the Lil’ Chef Program, and the annual Harvest Celebration.
As a board-certified family medicine physician specializing in functional and holistic care, Maryam sees the farm as more than an amenity, and more as an extension of her life’s work.
“Food is truly medicine. The farm brings awareness, appreciation, and a deeper understanding of how lifestyle choices impact well-being. It’s an educational and transformational experience for the community,” she added.
Beyond the farm, the family enjoys the parks, pools, and open spaces throughout The Ranch. To Maryam though, what makes the experience of living on The Ranch truly special is the people.
“Wherever we go - whether it’s the farm, parks, sports practices, or school - we almost always run into someone we know. That sense of community and connection is something we truly value,” said Maryam.
Over the years, those everyday interactions have turned into lasting relationships, making Rancho Mission Viejo feel like home.
“What I love most is the lifestyle. It encourages you to slow down, be present, and truly connect with what matters. It supports health, family, and community in a very natural and authentic way,” concludes Maryam.
