The Upper Chiquita Conservation Area occupies 1,200 acres of former ranchland in a valley rich with coastal sage scrub and grasslands. It has been protected by The Ranch family in partnership with the Transportation Corridor Agency (TCA) since 1997. The area was created for the permanent preservation and scientific study of native wildlife. Each spring, biologists and botanists conduct hikes in the area. To register for the next hike, contact the TCA Director of Community Relations at 949-754-3400.
