In addition to the approximately 17,000 acres designated as permanently preserved open space in The Ranch Plan, The Ranch family also intends to preserve several of the most treasured historical sites on Rancho Mission Viejo. These will remain as authentic reminders of the history of the West.

The Ranch House - A private O'Neill family residence.
Rancho Mission Viejo Officina - Rancho Mission Viejo's headquarters.
Campo Portola - The main campground for the riders in the annual El Viaje de Portola trail ride commemorating the 1769 explorations of Gaspar de Portola.
Cow Camp - The heart of the family's cattle ranching heritage.
Bull Camp - A scenic pasture highlighted with stands of heritage oaks.
Campo De Los Amantes - A traditional gathering place for The Ranch family and friends located in a small valley hidden by heritage oaks and sycamores.
